You don’t have to struggle through this alone.

Many parents contact me because feeding has become stressful, painful, or uncertain.

You might be experiencing:

• Painful or damaged nipples

• A baby who struggles to latch or slips off the breast

• Long feeds where your baby still seems hungry

• A baby who is very sleepy or not feeding effectively

• Worries about milk supply and weight gain

• Bottle refusal or difficulty switching between breast and bottle

• A baby who cries or seems unsettled during feeds

Sometimes we simply want reassurance that everything is going well.

If feeding is weighing on your mind, it’s a good time to ask for support.

 What happens during a consultation

During our session we take the time to understand what is really happening with feeding.

We will usually:

• Talk through your pregnancy, birth and feeding history

• Observe a full feed where possible

• Look carefully at positioning, latch and sucking patterns

• Assess how effectively milk is transferring

• Explore any challenges affecting supply, comfort or baby behaviour

From there we create a clear plan so you know:

• what is happening

• what steps to take next

• and when things are improving

My goal is that you leave the consultation feeling calmer, informed, and confident about the next steps for you and your baby.

Ways I can support you

Whether you are preparing for breastfeeding, navigating feeding challenges after birth, or reflecting on a previous experience, there is a consultation designed to support you.

Pregnancy  Session

Prepare for breastfeeding before your baby arrives.

We discuss what to expect in the early days, how milk supply develops, and how to recognise when feeding is going well.

Many find this session gives them confidence and a clear feeding plan before birth.

Lactation Consultation (Most Common)

Support for feeding challenges after your baby arrives.

This may include pain with feeding, latch difficulties, milk supply questions, unsettled babies, pumping, or mixed feeding.

Most consultations take around 90 minutes.

Processing a Previous Feeding Experience

Some mums and new parents carry difficult memories from previous breastfeeding journeys.

This session offers space to reflect on what happened, understand the physiology behind it, and create a different plan for the future if you are expecting another baby.

If you’re unsure which session is right for you, the lactation consultation is usually the best place to start.

Experienced, calm support when you need it most.

For more than 25 years I have supported thousands of families through the early weeks of feeding.

Alongside my clinical work with mums and parents, I also teach health professionals internationally about the science of breastfeeding and infant feeding.

This combination of clinical experience and evidence-based knowledge means you receive support that is both practical and grounded in the latest research.

But most importantly, consultations are a calm, judgement-free space.

Feeding challenges can feel overwhelming. My role is to help you understand what is happening and guide you toward solutions that work for your family.
